INTERNSHIPS - BLACK HILLS STOCK SHOW & RODEO 2026

We are looking for hardworking and dedicated individuals to join our team in Rapid City, SD for the 2026 Black Hills Stock Show. We have a variety of internships in livestock event management, marketing, and event management(finance focus). Over these ten days, you will get to meet many industry leaders, see the behind the scenes of events, and make memories of a lifetime!

We have one of the best crews in the country gathered over these ten days to provide the highest quality of shows, sales, and entertainment. We want you to be a part of this experience!

Applications due November 1st, 2025 at 11:59PM(MTN).
Interviews will be conducted in November.
Students selected for an internship will be notified in the beginning of December.

NOW HIRING: Maintenance Position / Equipment Operator

Full-Time | Central States Fairgrounds – 800 San Francisco Street

Join the team behind two of South Dakota’s biggest events — the Central States Fair and the Black Hills Stock Show®! We're hiring a full-time Maintenance / Equipment Operator to help keep our fairgrounds and facilities running smoothly all year long.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in a job well done, and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty. From day-to-day repairs to major event prep, your work helps bring our community events to life.

Position Details:

Full-time, year-round employment
Work includes both Central States Fair and Black Hills Stock Show® operations
On-site at the fairgrounds (800 San Francisco Street)
Pay dependent on qualifications
Benefits package including 401(k)

Preferred Experience:

Ranch or agricultural background
Basic construction and general maintenance
Equipment operation (tractors, skid steers, mowers, etc.)
Mechanically inclined and safety conscious
