Now Hiring: Event, Rental & Bar Coordinator
Central States Fair, Inc. | Rapid City, SD | Full-Time, In Rapid City Office (no remote or hybrid schedules)
Central States Fair, Inc. is seeking a motivated, organized professional to coordinate events, help coordinate facility rentals, and oversee bar operations across the Central States Fairgrounds, the Central States Fair, and the Black Hills Stock Show. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes initiative, manages multiple priorities, and understands how their work impacts a larger team. In our environment, details matter, timelines matter, and follow-through matters.
What You’ll Do
• Coordinate events from planning through execution
• Manage facility rentals from inquiry to event day
• Oversee bar operations including staffing, inventory, and compliance
• Work with staff, vendors, sponsors, and community partners
• Maintain timelines, logistics, and communication across projects
What We’re Looking For
• Highly organized, proactive, and solution-oriented
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through
Preferred Experience
• Bar or beverage management
• Event coordination or production
• Facility rentals or venue coordination
• Agriculture, livestock, equine, rodeo, or western industry experience
• Knowledge of and connections within the Black Hills community (preferred)
Position Details
• Full-time
• Flexibility required – especially during fair season, Black Hills Stock Show, and peak events
• Evening and weekend work as needed
• Pay dependent on qualifications and experience
