Tanya Tucker: A Defining Voice of Country Music
Set to Close Out Central States Fair August 23, 2025
RAPID CITY, SD — The Central States Fair is proud to announce a legendary addition to its 2025 Black Hills Energy Concert Series lineup Edgy. Classic. Country. A modern-day legend and a two-time 2020 GRAMMY® winner, Tanya Tucker continues to inspire generations of artists with her unmistakable voice and fearless spirit. In 2023, she was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, cementing her place among the greatest icons in country music history.
Born in Seminole, Texas, Tanya burst onto the scene at just 13 years old with her first hit, the now-classic “Delta Dawn” in 1972. Since then, she has amassed 23 Top 40 albums and an incredible 56 Top 40 singles, including 10 No. 1 hits on the Billboard country charts. Her timeless songs include “Soon,” “Two Sparrows in a Hurricane,” “It’s a Little Too Late,” “Trouble,” “Texas (When I Die),” “If It Don’t Come Easy,” “Strong Enough to Bend”, and many more.
Tanya’s career is decorated with numerous accolades, including two CMAs, two ACMs, and three CMT Awards. In 2020, she won two GRAMMY® Awards for Best Country Album (While I’m Livin’) and Best Country Song (Bring My Flowers Now). That same year, Fantasy Records released Tanya Tucker – Live From The Troubadour, capturing her historic, standing-room-only performance at the legendary venue.
Her remarkable career resurgence was the subject of the 2022 Sony Pictures Classics documentary, The Return of Tanya Tucker, Featuring Brandi Carlile, which The New York Times praised for showcasing her enduring talent and emotional depth. The following year, she made her acting debut in the Paramount original film, A Nashville Country Christmas, starring alongside Academy Award® winner Keith Carradine.
Beyond music, Tanya has left her mark in the world of spirits with Tanya Tucker’s Cosa Salvaje Tequila, now available in the U.S. states and Canada, with expansion growing daily. To order, visit CosaSalvajeTequila.com.
“It’s not every day we get to bring a living legend to the Black Hills,” said Central States Fair General Manager Ron Jeffries. “Tanya Tucker has blazed trails in country music, and having her close out our concert series is truly the cherry on top of an incredible week of entertainment.”

Lil Jon

One of the most recognizable voices in music and a living legend in hip-hop and party culture, Grammy Award winning artist LIL JON is bringing his explosive energy to the Central States Fair in Rapid City, South Dakota on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

With a career that redefined the sound of an era, Lil Jon rose from the Atlanta underground to global superstardom as the King of Crunk. He’s the voice behind anthems like “Get Low,” “Yeah!,” “Snap Yo Fingers,” and the genre-smashing “Turn Down for What” — songs that didn’t just climb the charts, they crashed the party.

A GRAMMY® Award-winning producer, Billboard Music Award winner, and a staple on every club DJ’s setlist for over two decades, Lil Jon’s musical reach spans hip-hop, EDM, Latin, and pop. He’s collaborated with artists including Usher, Ludacris, DJ Snake, Pitbull, E-40, Saweetie, and the Ying Yang Twins, and helped shape the sound of 2000s nightlife and beyond.

But Lil Jon isn’t just an artist — he’s a movement. From Super Bowl commercials and Hollywood cameos to charitable work and festival domination, he’s become a cultural icon whose three simple words — “YEAH!,” “OKAY!,” and “WHAT?!” — are known around the world.

Now, he’s bringing the full force of his high-octane live show to South Dakota, turning the grandstand into a full-blown party zone for one unforgettable night.

“This is a bold move for us and we’re thrilled about it,” said Ron Jeffries, General Manager of the Central States Fair. “Lil Jon brings a completely different flavor to our lineup — and we think fairgoers are going to love it. It’s going to be loud, it’s going to be wild, and it’s going to be one of the most memorable nights we’ve ever had at the Fair.”

This stop is part of the Black Hills Energy Concert Series at the Central States Fair, which runs August 15–23 and features 9 nights of motorsports, rodeos, and major music performances.

Get ready, Rapid City — Lil Jon is about to turn the 605 all the way up.
