The brand runs deep. And this South Dakota boy has the roots to prove it.

From rodeo beer gardens to the Grand Ole Opry, Tyler Halverson is bringing his raw, independent brand of country music to the Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo® on Friday, February 5, 2027!

Born and raised in Canton, South Dakota, Halverson grew up with one foot in the sale barn and the other on a skateboard. It's a combination that helped shape a sound all his own, blending traditional country storytelling, Western roots and an unapologetic alt-country edge.

With fan favorites like "Beer Garden Baby," "Mac Miller," and "More Hearts Than Horses," Halverson has built a following by doing things his own way. He's shared stages with Parker McCollum, Turnpike Troubadours and Muscadine Bloodline, made his Grand Ole Opry debut, and taken his music from small-town bars to stages across the country.

His latest album, In Defense of Drinking, doesn't sugarcoat much. It's packed with honest stories about life on the road, love, heartbreak, questionable decisions and figuring things out along the way. It's country music with grit, character and plenty of heart.

One South Dakota original. One hell of a Friday night.
