Classes and Show Order:

1. Showmanship - Senior (Age 14-21)
2. Showmanship - Junior (Age 11-13)
3. Showmanship - Beginner (Age 10 and under)
   • Overall Showman-All Ages
4. Market Heifer - All breeds & crossbreds
5. Market Steer - Classes will be split by breed then weight
   • Champion Market Animal
   • Reserve Champion Market Animal
6. Heifer Calves born after January 1, 2025
7. Yearling Heifers born after January 1, 2024
   • Champion Breeding Heifer
   • Reserve Champion Breeding Heifer
8. Bull Calves born after January 1, 2025
9. Yearling Bulls born after January 1, 2024
   • Champion Bull
   • Reserve Champion Bull
10. Black Hills Gold Futurity
11. Feeder Heifer - 750 lbs. max, classes will be split by breed then weight
12. Feeder Steer - 750 lbs max, classes will be split by breed then weight
    • Champion Feeder Calf
    • Reserve Champion Feeder Calf

Entries open June 1st, 2025 on the Showman App

Entry Fees:
$40 per head
$15 per participant for Showmanship
Late Entry Fee: $60 per head and $20 per participant for Showmanship

Show Rules:

• Animals must be accompanied by a proper health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian withing 30 days of the show.
• Health certificates are retained by show management. Market classes will be divided into weight classes as deemed necessary by the CSF livestock committee and show management.
• Each animal can only be shown in one class (plus showmanship)
• Premiums will be mailed out directly following the fair.
• Central States Fair, Inc. or anyone helping with the show assumes no responsibility for accident or injury. CSF personnel will not be responsible for any injury or loss of any animal or accident thereby

Barn 8 is reserved for the Central States Fair livestock shows; with overflow available if needed. Stalls are not assigned, and are available on a first come first served basis. All stalls are pre-bedded, unlocked, and ready for your arrival. Please be courteous and pick up after yourself. There are limited swine pens available in Barn 9. Barn release is at the end of your show. No set barn release times will be mandated. We ask that barns be emptied by August 17 at 10am in order for CSF to turnover the barns.

South Dakota state law requires all animals to have a current health certificate when being exhibited at a fair or livestock exposition. Health certificate should be issued within 30 days of the Central States Fair. They can be sent electronically issued from a vet and emailed to paige@blackhillsstocksow.com or brought to registration.
